AdaptABILITY Support Services is designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities by offering customizable, personalized programs based on individual interests.

AJ Kirkpatrick is an encouraging, passionate and enthusiastic human whose entire professional career as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner is focused on working with and supporting individuals living with intellectual disabilities.

Recognizing the gap in supportive programs for individuals living with intellectual disabilities, and people being funnelled into a one-size-fits-all program without a sense of autonomy, real-world practice, or the opportunity to create their own futures, AdaptABILITY Support Services was founded in 2017.

Land Acknowledgement

AdaptABILITY Support Services respectfully acknowledges that its facility is located on the traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples.

We acknowledge that we gather on the ancestral territory of the Anishinaabek Nations: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi, who collectively are known as the Three Fires Confederacy. We also remember the people of the Wendat who once made this land their home. We also acknowledge the Wendat Nation (Huron) who occupied these lands prior to the middle of the 17th century. We also recognize the contributions of all First Nations, Inuit and Metis Peoples across Turtle Island.

AdaptABILITY Support Services acknowledges the history that many nations hold in the areas around our center. We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture and recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land. We are committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect with all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit People.
